On a beautiful sunny day we headed off from the security of our homes by the sea to brave the rigors of the Macquarie Pass and on to the Southern Highlands to prepare the way for your Retreat Shop Hop!
We can't release all the information yet and spoil the fun but here are some highlights of our day.
Our first port of call in beautiful Bowral was My Place.
There was lots of lovely fabrics, homewares, patterns and kits - you name it - all set in this quaint little cottage just off the main street.
See for yourself on their website www.myplacebowral.com.au/

Bowral is a great place to browse in a semi-rural setting.
There are great trendy clothing boutiques, bookshops, bakeries and sidewalk cafes and then there are the Antique shops, the Bradman cricket Museum and the Corbett Gardens.
Janine found a rural store and bought a 'Shooting Stick'! - now that's different.
There is something for everyone.

After morning tea at Bowral we headed off towards Mittagong and stopped in at a great shop (Warehouse really) called Japanache.
They are importers of Japanese Antiques, Art, Ceramics, TEXTILES and Decor and garden ornaments. Their website is www.japanache.com.au.

It's time for lunch so we head off to the RSL at Mittagong just to make sure that the place is suitable and that the food is satisfactory for all you Hoppers........
